Fleet Air Arm Museum
This Museum has an extensive range of exhibits connected with the Fleet Air Arm and the Royal Navy aviation. You can learn how aviation has changed and developed over the years and among the exhibits you can see historic aircraft, including a number from World War II. Lytes Cary Manor
Very close to Ilchester is this Grade I listed medieval manor house dating back to the 14th century, where you can enjoy the elegant features such as the Great Chamber with plastered ceiling displaying coats of arms, along with oak panelling and tapestries. The house also has a beautiful mirror with a frame that has 17th century embroidery, and the Great Hall with oak furniture from the 1600’s. There is also a small 14th chapel to see, and visitors can enjoy the gardens with topiary displays, charming ponds and a fountain, along with the orchards and woods of the estate.
