The Millennium Bridge
This impressive bridge crosses the River Moraca in the City and was opened in 2005. It is a cable-stayed bridge and 140 metres in length, with a 57 metre high pylon. The Bridge is a striking sight with its long cables, and looks great when illuminated at night.
The Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ
This recently built Serbian Orthodox Cathedral is an impressive building situated in the New Town of the City. It has an imposing facade, with large bell towers and a tall central dome. Inside the Cathedral you can see stunning frescoes which include the depiction of the Resurrection of Christ, along with bright and colourful gilded icons.
The Clock Tower
Located in the Old Town of Podgorica, is this historic Ottoman Clock Tower built in the 1600’s and is very well preserved. The Tower stands over 50ft high and at the top is a cross which was placed there in the late 19th century.
Podgorica City Museum
At this Museum visitors can see various collections relating to the City’s past and includes sections on archaeology, history, ethnography and culture, with collections which include ancient Roman and Illyrian exhibits, manuscripts, costumes, icons and jewellery.
This is a lovely place situated above Podgorica where you can come to enjoy the quiet scenery of green open space with walking and cycle paths. From here you can relax and have a picnic or explore the area, and you can enjoy the panoramic views across the City.
The Old Bridge
You could come to see this charming historic Ottoman bridge which crosses Ribnica River. This arched bridge was built in the 1400’s and reconstructed in the 1700’s, and is a picturesque sight across the river, making a pleasant spot to relax by the water.
